Asbestos can cause fatal disease if the fibers are inhaled. Therefore any asbestos material must be sealed for instance with paint to ensure that the fibers are secured. It is likely that insurers will exclude any asbestos claims in present insurance. Furthermore repair teams may refuse to work in areas which have asbestos. Asbestos removal by a professional team is a costly job. It is important to identify possible instances of asbestos prior to purchase in order that the cost for removal is deducted from the sale price if that is the buyer's intention.
Noted that positive identification of asbestos requires a lab technician. The best we can do is to identify possible asbestos and further investigation can be undertaken if required.
