Hot Vac Treatment

Hot Vac is a technology used for hull osmosis treatments. It consists of a pad which is sealed to the hull and which applies both heat and vacuum to the area under the mat.

It serves the purpose of drying the laminate after the gelcoat has been removed.

As vacuum is being used as well it will lower the vaporisation temperature of the moisture in the laminate therefore the pad can successfully dry the hull using lower temperatures than required without vacuum and avoiding temperature related damage to the laminate.

The pad dries the laminate directly below it so it must be moved periodically to progressively dry the entire hull. One machine can run three pads.

Hot Vac technology serves the purpose of drying the hull faster. A 10m yacht could be dried in 10 days whereas several months would be required to dry a hull naturally.
