| Required for commercial yachts operating under British Flag. The intial surveys would be typically two visits, one to identify non-compliant items and the second to be the formal survey after the items have been corrected and the required equipment installed. The surveys would be with the boat ashore. |
| Provided that a yacht is MCA coded it can operate commerically under either SSR or Part I Registry. |
| For obtaining Part I British Flag Registration a tonnage and measurement survey is required which involves several measurements in order to make basically a volume calculation. Additionally a few details of the yacht are confirmed. The survey can be done with the yacht in or out of the water. |
